CPC has filed its proof of claim in the Vision2Systems LLC bankruptcy case for the value of donations made but not remitted to CPC. Vision2Systems LLC is attempting to formulate a chapter 11 plan of liquidation. Simultaneously, the chapter 11 trustee’s office in Texas has sought to have Vision2Systems LLC’s case converted to a case under chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code, or to have a chapter 11 trustee appointed. That matter will be heard by the bankruptcy judge in August 2025.
Previous Update: March 2025
Vision2Systems LLC, our former giving processing vendor, has filed for bankruptcy, and we’re still in the early stages of understanding what this means. This issue stems from a vendor’s mishandling of funds, not from any failure within our church’s accounting systems. Through an audit process, we have determined that our financial risk is limited to $53,000, with what we know today. While this is not an insignificant amount, we are grateful that our strong internal controls allowed us to catch this issue quickly and minimize its impact.
We live in a broken world, and while no organization is immune to challenges, we are blessed with a Finance Team that acted with wisdom and diligence. We have taken swift and appropriate action with integrity, transparency, and strong governance, including working with our internal and external auditors and retaining external counsel. We also want to assure you that we are confident in our new giving processing vendor, SecureGive, which provides a reliable and secure way to continue supporting the church. This situation is still in its early stages, and we will keep you informed as we learn more.
