Drop off at Missions Corner in the Great Room
Our local Mission Partner, FreedomWorks, runs a food shelf called Bread of Life, serving over 100 families in North Minneapolis — along with the men in their transitional programs following release from incarceration.
The food shelf is open to the community every other week, and FreedomWorks has shared that the need continues to grow. Families often arrive early, hoping to bring food home. At times, the shelves are not fully stocked, and there isn't always enough to meet the needs of every family.
This food shelf has also opened the door for FreedomWorks to build trust in the neighborhood. When the ministry first moved into the building with recently released incarcerated men, there was hesitation from the community. Now, those same men are giving back — volunteering by stocking shelves, greeting neighbors, and helping families shop on the days the food shelf is open. It’s a powerful picture of lives being transformed through Christ, and a beautiful connection between the ministry and the community.
Men living in FreedomWorks housing also rely on this food shelf to help supplement their meals as they journey through the program.
