Commitment Class Spring Retreat • Friday, April 10-Sunday, April 12 • required for membership
This retreat is an incredibly special and mandatory weekend for our students. It’s an opportunity for them to be drawn into a deeper relationship with Jesus, and it’s a turning point as we head towards Commitment Class Sunday and church membership. Location is Castaway Club in Detroit Lakes, MN. We will meet at CPC at 5:30PM on Friday, April 10 and return to CPC between 1:00-2:00PM on Sunday, April 12. Dinner is not included on Friday night; please have your student eat before arriving. Students are also welcome to bring a bag dinner and/or snacks with them. Packing list to follow.
If your child is attending the retreat, the cost is $285, which includes transportation, lodging, meals, a t-shirt, the Prayer Service, and an official CC photo. If your child is unable to attend the retreat, the fee for End-of-Year Events is $40, which includes a t-shirt, the Prayer Service and official CC group photo. Scholarships are available; please email Joe Bustamante at joebj@cpcedina.org. Note that students not attending the retreat must still register and pay the $40.
Prayer Service • Tuesday, April 21 • 6:30-8:00PM
This is a service of celebration for students, parents, and small group leaders where we’ll reflect on the year and celebrate all that God has done. We will also take our Commitment Class photo. Semi-formal attire is requested (sundresses, khakis, dress shirt, etc).
Elder Visits • Wednesday, April 29 • 7:45-9:00PM • required for membership
During our regular programming time, your student(s) will meet with CPC elders in their Commitment Class small group. A Session Meeting with the elders will conclude the evening where students will become members of CPC. If your student intends on joining CPC this meeting is MANDATORY and must be made up before Friday, May 1st if it is missed.
Commitment Class Weekend • Sunday, May 3
Please join us for our weekend worship services where we will celebrate our Commitment Class students. Students will be assigned a service time by small groups and have the opportunity to profess their commitment to Christ and be officially recognized as members of CPC.
Semi-formal attire is again requested, and clothing should accommodate a flower to be pinned to each student's clothing. Please ensure your student is prepared to arrive at CPC 30 minutes before the service.
